Love Your Body Up.

Love Your Body Up.

I was getting a mani pedi on Saturday at a local salon in my home town of Sausalito. The two women doing my nails were talking about how they wanted breast implants and wished they had pink skin vs yellow.

I was struck by the conversation.

No matter what age, ethnicity, demographic, life circumstance, demographic – all women – at some point – have wanted to be different in some way.

We’ve been socialized to not love ourselves for who we are. The media has brainwashed us, told us what beauty is and isn’t. The result is many of us feel shame and defective in some way. The lack of confidence and self esteem makes us feelnot good enough. We fall into the trap of thinking that if only we change our bodies, our faces, we will feel better and, life will be better.

What I think we all yearn for is a deep level of ease and a knowing that we are OK, just as we are. No matter what we do to change ourselves on the outside, if we don’t also change our thoughts and beliefs about ourselves, change won’t last. The truth is,
confidence is an inside job.

I used to want straight hair, olive skin, a smaller nose, smaller thighs. Sometimes I still do 🙂 but for the most part, I’ve learned to love and accept myself – just as I am. I’m super grateful for my healthy body and all it does for me.

You are OK just the way you are. It’s time to fall deeply in love with yourself and your body. Give your body some lovin’ and gratitude – every single day.

Love Yourself Up.

Bring More Light to Your Life.

Bring More Light to Your Life.

Woo hoo – summer officially starts Friday! It’s Summer Solstice and it’s time to celebrate.

The longest day of the year is a great day to acknowledge all you’ve created and reflect on what you want to create in the next 6 months, to make 2019 your best year – ever.  It’s also about slowing down, taking a load off, easing your foot off the accelerator – shifting into cruise control – knowing you will get where you want to go.

It’s about bringing more light to your life and shining your light more brightly.

It’s a perfect time to ask:

Where do I want more light in my life?

What do I want to bring in?

What do I want less of?

Perhaps you want to bring in more joy and FREEDOM. More spontaneity. More connection and presence. More LOVE. More ROOM for yourself. More peace and serenity. More FUN.

More barbecues, music, sultry nights, hanging at the lake, walks in freshly cut
grass, family time. (Fill in the blank) __________.

And, you want less of not feeling good, doubting yourself and your actions, being
your worst critic and “not feeling enough.”

Less worry, fewer hours at work, sleepless nights. (Fill in the blank) __________.

It’s up to you – you can design the life you want. Be intentional, think positive thoughts and take repeated action. Trust yourself, bring a lighter version of YOU to YOU and your LIFE.

Let your light shine.

Embrace the Unknown.

Embrace the Unknown.

In this crazy world we live in, the one thing we can count on is uncertainty.

That can be scary for many of us. We’re driven and excel at what we do. We are used  to making anything and everything happen. We want to know specific outcomes, at work and in our relationships. We want to control our future, have it wrapped up in a beautiful, blue Tiffany box.

So we stay in our comfort zone and don’t take risks. We avoid situations and relationships that make us feel vulnerable. Then one day, we wake up and our life feels beige and boring.

Who wants beige and boring?

The truth is, you don’t have to know the outcome for it to be a good one. Some of the best outcomes are those you don’t see coming! Let your intuition, not fear, be your guide. The unknown is just part of life.

Here are a few ways to strengthen your “living in the unknown” muscle:

Do something you’ve always wanted to do

Do something that scares or excites you

Do something you never thought you would do. I mean ever. Come on, I dare you.

Embrace the unexpected. It’s where infinite possibilities and magic reside.
